Artists Statement:
My name is Paula Lee and I am self-taught artist from Portland, Connecticut, specializing in acrylic painting. I have been painting since childhood. As such, I cannot imagine my life without art being a part of it. My usual topics are nature and wildlife, with occasional works in still life. My goal in each painting is to reach into the mind of the viewer and use color and flow to draw them in; to bring them to another place; to make them think.
I am currently an elected member of the Essex Art Association and the Clinton Art Society and exhibit there regularly. Other memberships in the area include the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the Lyme Art Society, and Brownstone Arts of Portland. I have been exhibiting my work for many years throughout Connecticut and has paintings in many collections over the years.
I often work on commission for my clients, bringing life to pets or places with special meaning to them.
