Story Times Resume!
Registration for our age appropriate story times is now open. Please call the Library at 342-6770 or click here to register.

Toddler Time

Children ages 18-35 months
with a parent or caregiver.
Session meets at 10:30 a.m.
on Tuesdays, March 23, 30, and April 6.

Story Garden

A weekly story time for children aged 3-5 years old.
Kindergarten children are welcome!
Session meets at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays,
March 24, 31, and April 7.

Registration is required for all story time sessions and is going on now. Please go on-line to www.portlandlibraryct.org to register, or ask a
staff member to assist you.

The Portland Library is teaming up with Portland’s Early Childhood Council (PECC) to bring you and your family an extra special event this April to
celebrate The Week of the Young Child.

Family Story Time
Sponsored by the National Association for the Education of the Young Child (or NAEYC), the Week of the Young Child is an annual event focusing on the enrichment of a child’s early years and the effect that it has on his/her later school success. This year’s theme is “Early Years are Learning Years”, and the PECC will partner with the Portland Library to bring you a family event and Children’s Art Show! 

On Thursday, April 8th at 6:30 p.m., families with children ages 5 and under are invited to hop into their pajamas and  join us at the Portland Library for an evening Story Telling Event. We will be exploring the work of Eric Carle and trying our hand at his unique method of art.

An Art Show Reception will be held at the Library
on Wednesday April 14th from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
sponsored by the Portland Early Childhood Council, light refreshments will be served.All participants and members of the community are invited to celebrate Portland’s young artists during the reception. In addition, Liberty Bank will be raffling off a savings bond for one lucky winner, to help with their future academic success.
