Diane Postoian, Storytellers
Wednesday, November 19th, 2008
at 3:00 p.m.

School-age children are invited to join us for a free storytelling performance by Diane Postoian.

Thirty years of performing and advocating for children, directing, stand-up comedy, storytelling, and motivational speaking has earned Diane Postoian an Honorary Degree in Fine Arts.

This afternoon is a half day at Portland schools. Registration is required.  Please call the Library to register or register online.

Ready to Read
This popular program series is for children in kindergarten to 2nd grade 

A fun and lively program, Ready to Read is designed to enhance the core components a child needs to learn to read and to strengthen the child’s understanding of what they are reading.

Thursday, November 20th
from 4:00-5:00 p.m. and 5:15-6:00 p.m.

Merriness & Mistletoe
Wednesday, December 10th
from 10:30-11:30 am

Children ages 2-5 years old and a parent or
caregiver are invited to join us for a special holiday event.  Make a gift for someone special, learn about different holiday traditions, listen to stories, and spread some holiday cheer! 
Registration is required and is going on now.
 

The Great Winter Read-In!
Thursday, December 11th
from 3:00-4:30 pm

Children in grades 3 to 6 are invited to join us for an afternoon of, what else? READING!
The hot cocoa and snack bar will be up and
running, serving up delights from 3:30-4:30 p.m. 
Hourly challenges and prizes will keep things
interesting while you and your friends cozy up with good books all afternoon long! 
The reading material is on us!

Ready to Read:  Holiday Happenings
Thursday, December 18th 
from 4:00-4:45 pm and from 5:15-6:00 pm

This is a special holiday edition of our popular Ready to Read series.
Children in grades K-2 are invited to attend!
Children will be delighted with special stories, crafts, and refreshments that are geared for the new reader. 
Registration is required.
