Libraries Rock!

The Teen Summer Reading Program runs from June 21 through August 30, 2018
and is for patrons going into grades 6-12.

Welcome to Portland Library's Summer 2018 Reading Program for Teens! The program can either be completed by tracking your reading on paper or using Wandoo Reader, an online program that not only helps you record the books you’ve read, but challenges you to complete missions, win prizes and advance in an online game. The more you read and log on this program, the more points you will earn in the game, which will allow you to customize your unique avatar and level up.

Like last year, for every 140 minutes that you read and log this summer (that's 20 minutes per day for 7 days!), you will earn 2 Book Bucks. These Book Bucks can be redeemed at the Portland Library for small prizes; saved to earn bigger prizes such as books; or traded in for art supplies and other small items that will be sent to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center when the summer is over.

But we don’t want you just to read all summer! Once you register for the program, you can check out the Challenge page to find
extra activities that you can do to earn Book Bucks, such as  coming to a library program, taking one of our ukulele classes, and creating a library-themed song.

Registration for Portland Library’s Summer Reading program starts on June 4th. Visit the library today for more information or visit our Teen Summer Reading webpage HERE to register.

Thank you to the Friends of the Portland Library for sponsoring all of our Summer Programs for Teens.
