Portland Library Children’s Department Weather Policy
Portland Library adheres to the following weather policy in regard to our scheduled programs.
If Portland Public Schools have a delayed opening or are closed for the day due to inclement weather, we will NOT run morning storytimes. Afternoon and evening programs will be decided on an individual basis that day, and registered participants will be contacted in advance if the program will be cancelled.

February 1, 8, 15, 22
Families with children ages 0-5 and their siblings are invited to our weekly evening storytimes. Each week will feature stories, songs, games and a craft based on a weekly theme.
Registration is required.
Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
Drop in on Tuesday mornings as we welcome kids between the ages of 0-5 and their caregivers to visit the library for drop-in playtimes! We will meet in the Wagner Room and have fun enjoying our storytime toys and puzzles with our friends!
No registration is required.
Spring Story Times
Registration for our Spring Story Time sessions will begin on February 13th. Registration is required.

Enjoy stories, songs, finger plays and more with your little ones at the library as we nurture a love of books and reading! Structured playtime builds valuable motor and social skills.
Stories for Twos

Two-year-olds are invited to enjoy stories, songs, and activities in this eight-week interactive program that will help them get ready for preschool. A craft and playtime are provided each week.
Preschool Story Time (ages 3-5)
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28, March 7, 14, 21, 28, April 4, 11, 18
This program helps your preschoolers prepare for kindergarten through listening and learning. Each week features stories, songs, rhymes and movement, as well as a craft and playtime.
